Have you ever seen a cobweb-lace shawl and wished that you could spin yarn that fine? In this workshop, learn techniques for spinning fine yarns wheel set-up, fiber preparation, drafting, ply, and other more. Heavier wools can make laceweight yarn, too! We’ll practice spinning these fibers moving on to finer fibers. A discussion will follow on some of the different characteristics of the fibers and resulting yarns.

Supplies Students Must Bring: Spinning wheel in good working order, extra bobbins, lazy kate, and knitting needles (optional, for trying out new yarn). The instructor will have a few pieces of equipment (i.e., niddy noddies, nostepinnes) for participants to use during the workshop.
