Morning Workshop - Introduction to Spindle Spinning

I had so much fun in the morning bringing new spinners into the world 😉 Unfortunately, that means that I didn’t get any photos to share!

Afternoon Workshop - C&C (Crepe & Cable) Yarns

In this workshop, we learned how to make crepe and cabled yarns.  These are novelty yarns that are characterized by plying plied yarns with either a single (crepe) or another plied yarn (cabled).  We also played with adding beads to some of our yarns.

The photos below show some of the many combinations made by the workshop participants.

Yarn Fest 2023 - Color Blending on Handcards

In this workshop, we combine the three primary colors (and black and white) to form all different color effects.

The photos below show some of the many combinations made by the workshop participants

Yarn Fest 2023 - What Every Spinner Needs to Know

In the afternoon workshop, we discussed all of those great tips and tricks that more experienced spinners shared with us when we were new to the craft. But since we were in information overload, we forgot many of them!

Yarnfest 2023 - Spinning for Lace Master Class

If this isn’t the face of a very happy spinner, I don’t know what is!!
Georgia is very proud of her laceweight yarn 😁

This is one of the punis that Elaine created in the second half of the class.

And here is the single spun from that puni. Trust me, this photo does not do the yarn justice!
